Us 2 Behavioral Health Care
Increasing access to care for all
What does “Us 2” mean? The name says it all. It means every person receives equality in access to mental health services. Studies indicate the existence of a significant disparity in services for low-income and minority populations, not only in Wisconsin, but throughout the United States. Our goal at Us 2 Behavioral Health is to narrow this gap by addressing the critical issues which reside in three layers: the Individual, the Community & the Systems.
INDIVIDUAL: Our objective is to immediately increase access to services from our clinic in Appleton, Wisconsin while also working to building cultural competency capability in other providers.
We address the Client by providing outpatient counseling and psychiatric services from our clinic in Appleton, Wisconsin. We use a unique culturally-led, trauma-informed approach to help clients build resiliency and empowerment in their own lives. We have pride in serving people from all races, religions, genders and socioeconomic backgrounds. We also assist individuals, who may or may not be clients, with parenting assistance, language translation & psycho-education.
We address the Provider by sharing our culture-first approach with other professionals through our evidence-based training program. We understand that this model should not be kept within our four walls and we strive to expand this new mindset to other providers.
COMMUNITY: Diversity, inclusion & equity in mental health can be a significant endeavor. The Us 2 mission & vision continues to be shared using various platforms for advocacy while pursuing collaborative programs with other organizations. We offer consulting to agency leaders who wish to pursue step-level organizational advancement. We believe that building critical mass alignment with agencies who operate within our community is imperative in moving us all forward.
SYSTEMS: The ultimate goal is to increase equity, effectiveness & efficiency in the application of policies within our Systems (Government, Education, Nonprofit, Commercial). Macro-level change cannot be accomplished by one agency alone. It takes a Community to create a System.
Vulnerability enables action. Action leads to change. How vulnerable are we to invest in change?

“Diversity includes all of us, and excludes all of us. As a community, we must acknowledge the flaws of today’s medical model and turn input into action.”
