I believe that every individual is unique and can find many different avenues to meeting their goals, which is why I take an eclectic approach to therapy. I often utilize Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, play therapy, and other creative modalities. When I meet with my clients, I strive to create a plan that revolves around them and who they are or want to be.
I have experience working with people ages 5+, in several different settings. I was able to provide my services in outpatient day treatment programs, outpatient individual therapy, school-based therapy, family therapy, and telehealth. Before this, I worked at a center-based autism program, with children ages 4-15. I also had the privilege to serve the Eau Claire, WI community through AmeriCorps by teaming up with a head start site, cooking and serving at local food pantries, and creating activities for public educational events. In this field, a special interest I have is finding out the different ways food can impact mental health. I also am a strong advocate for mental health in the Hmong Community.
In my free time, I like to explore and bake different desserts, draw, paint, and spend time with family and friends (pets included). I also enjoy traveling, taking walks near water, listening to music/podcasts, and watching new shows or movies.
